Rental Car Policies
Everything you need to know about renting a car through TripManga
Driver Requirements
Age Requirements
Most rental companies require drivers to be at least 21 years old. Drivers under 25 may be subject to young driver surcharges. Some luxury or specialty vehicles may require drivers to be 25 or older.
Valid Driver's License
You must present a valid driver's license that has been held for at least one year. For international rentals, an International Driving Permit (IDP) may be required in addition to your home country license.
Credit Card Requirement
A valid credit card in the driver's name is typically required for the security deposit. Debit cards may be accepted by some companies but often with additional restrictions.
Insurance & Protection
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
CDW limits your financial responsibility if the rental car is damaged or stolen. This is highly recommended for peace of mind during your rental period.
Liability Insurance
Covers damage to other vehicles or property and injuries to other people. Check if your personal auto insurance or credit card provides coverage before purchasing additional insurance.
Personal Accident Insurance
Provides coverage for medical expenses for you and your passengers in case of an accident. Review your existing health insurance coverage before adding this option.
Fuel Policy
Full-to-Full
The most common and fair policy. You receive the car with a full tank and return it full. You only pay for the fuel you use at local gas station prices.
Pre-Purchase Fuel
You pay for a full tank upfront and can return the car empty. This option is convenient but may not be cost-effective if you don't use all the fuel.
Additional Drivers
Additional drivers can be added to the rental agreement for an extra fee. All additional drivers must meet the same age and license requirements as the primary driver and must be present at pickup to show their license.
Mileage Limits
Most rentals include unlimited mileage, but some budget options may have daily mileage limits. Exceeding the limit results in per-mile charges. Always check your rental agreement for mileage terms.
Important Reminders
- • Inspect the vehicle for existing damage before driving off
- • Take photos or videos of the car's condition at pickup
- • Return the car on time to avoid late fees
- • Keep all toll receipts and parking tickets
- • Clean the car interior before return to avoid cleaning fees
